Our Visual Communication Design Department Student Returns From The Competition With Two Awards

Our Visual Communication Design Department student Fatih Orhan succeeded in winning awards in two different categories at the 5th Outdoor and Industrial Advertising Association (ARED) Awards.

Competing in the "Denizbank Promising Designer" and "Birol Fedai Honorable Mention Award" categories in the ARED Awards, Orhan came second with the exhibition stand project he prepared for Denizbank, and also received the Birol Fedai Honorable Mention Award with the totem project he prepared for Denizbank. While Fatih Orhan was receiving his award, “I heard about the competition from my department chair and wanted to try my luck. Thank you very much for giving us this opportunity, it is a great pleasure to be here. I congratulate my other friends and appreciate their efforts. Being second is a very good result for my future, I think it will give me good opportunities. " made the explanation.

In its 5th year, the works for the sixth ARED Awards, which are held in two categories as "Best Industrial Advertising Award" and "DenizBank Promising Designer Award", will start next year and the winners will be at FESPA Eurasia 2020, which will take place on 3-6 December 2020.

We Visited BASE and GMK Exhibitions

Istanbul Yeni Yüzyıl University, Faculty of Communication, Visual Communication Design Department visited the BASE and GMK Graphic Design Exhibition.

Head of Department Dr. Faculty Member Özlem Vargün and Design Club members participated in the Base Exhibition at Beşiktaş Akaretler Row Houses on November 14, 2019. Participating in the workshops, Design Club members painted the inside of the ice cream shapes on the wall made by Magnum and the top of Efes Pilsen bottles using their creativity.

After the Base Exhibition, the same team visited GMK - Graphic Designers Professional Organization 38th Graphic Design Exhibition.

Visual Communication Design Department 2018-2019 Graduation Projects

Istanbul Yeni Yüzyıl University (İYYÜ) Visual Communication Design Department students exhibited their graduation projects. The designs, prepared with great effort throughout the year, attracted great interest.

Students of the Visual Communication Design Department exhibited their graduation projects at the exhibition, which took place at the İYYÜ Foyer between 30-31 May 2019. The products and works that students work with throughout the year with creative ideas and aesthetic designs, It was scored by Faculty of Communication academicians Assoc. Prof. Benal Dikmen, Dr. Lecturer Özlem Vargün, Instructer Azim Alper Cesur, Research Assistant Gizem Çelik, Research Assistant Sinan Aktaş.

Among the projects that are a source of pride for the faculty members; mobile application interface designs, corporate identity studies, advertising campaign studies, three-dimensional models, poster designs, informational designs and video art designs.

Visual Communication Design Senior Students Exhibited Their Graduation Projects

Istanbul Yeni Yüzyıl University, Faculty of Communication, Department of Visual Communication Design students have prepared the projects they have prepared within the scope of the graduation project course, our Board of Trustees Chairman Dr. Azmi Ofluoğlu, our Rector Prof. Yaşar Hacısalihoğlu, Dean of the Faculty of Communication Prof. Aysel Aziz and the jury faculty members. Our Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Dr. Azmi Ofluoğlu, our Rector Prof. Yaşar Hacısalihoğlu examined the projects one by one and received information from the students.

While it was noteworthy that students mostly focused on mobile applications, works prepared for traditional media tools such as television channel corporate identity were also included in the presentation.

Among the mobile applications, cosmetics sales application that makes makeup application on images and transportation applications that will facilitate public transportation for Istanbul attracted attention. In addition, a mobile application that translates simultaneous phone calls was also presented at the exhibition.

The presentation also included the corporate identities of the wax zoo developed to prevent animals from being detached from nature, the bus company developed for disabled passengers, and associations established for children with autism and the homeless.

One of the most striking works of the exhibition was carried out in the mobile game category. At the exhibition, a mobile game interface named "Balıkaç" and a video game was presented to the visitors.

After the Visual Communication Design students presented their projects, they were happy to be one step closer to graduation.
